Lunge Lift-off

This is a preparation for the lunge, a strength exercise for the legs.

Lifting the rear knee asks for greater strength and stabilization work of the hamstring muscles, coming closer to a functional exercise and making the exercise harder and more effective.

In this exercise, you can further focus on building the strength and feeling for alignment that's necessary for a good, stable lunge.

Stronger legs can take a load off the spine and are an important foundation for all standing, walking and squatting activities.
